Global went all out with their Private Eyes launch, offering reporters 14 pieces of fruit and a muffin to go

Earlier this week, there was plenty of laughter coming from the conference room for Private Eyes. The two leads, Jason Priestley and Cindy Sampson, seemed to be having way too much fun.

The Toronto-based series premieres Thursday night at 9 p.m. on Global. Priestley plays an ex-hockey player-turned-private eye. Sampson is the kick-ass P.I. he gets teamed with. Before you can say “Castle,” a fish-out-of-water procedural is born.

It’s a 10-episode first season, perfect for today’s busy binge viewer, says Priestley. Both he and Sampson like to binge, and both singled out Bloodline–season 2 drops Friday on Netflix–as a show they’re hooked on.

Sampson, from Halifax, says Bloodline’s return on the 27th is her birthday present. She’s also a big fan of London Spy. “London Spy!!” echoes Priestley.

“It’s a little overwhelming,”he adds. “There’s so much television out there—and so much good television.”
