Gethin Anthony (above right) gets more face time in season two of Thrones

Last season, Game of Thrones introduced fantasy fans to a world of Kings and Queens, sex and violence, barbarians, direwolves, black magic, palace intrigue and bloody wars. It’s a treacherous, medieval place to inhabit, yet nothing but fun for the actors involved according to Gethin Anthony. “You walk onto those sets wearing those fur and leather costumes,” he says, “and it was kind of, ‘No acting required.’”
The series, described as The Lord of the Rings crossed with The Sopranos, returns for a second season tonight at 9 p.m. on HBO and HBO Canada. Anthony plays Renly Baratheon, Lord of Storm’s End and part of a large cast of contentious characters who grows larger this season. Read more of my interview with Anthony here in this article for The Canadian Press.
