The Blue Jays lost by a converted touchdown, but that didn’t stop the media party in the owner’s suite at the Rogers Centre Thursday night.
The folks at Rogers Media/City PR hosted a bevy of scribes, including yours truly, as the Jays battled the Baltimore Orioles. The Jays, playing before a sparse crowd (those hockey playoffs are tough competition) lost 11-4. Various typists from the The Toronto Star, The Toronto Sun, The National Post, Huffington Post, TV Guide Canada and other outlets scarfed down the pizza and dogs provided by Keith Pelley and Company.

Harris gets charged

Reporters could be found where they usually congregate at these things–within arms length of the bar.
The luxurious Rogers box is double wide and hangs pretty much over home pate, next to the Blue Jays play-by-play booth. From the lip of the box you could see Geddy Lee from Rush sitting down behind home plate.
One of the features of the owner’s suite is the large, red Rogers’ Charging Zone on the wall next to a colourful portrait of ’93 hero Joe Carter. Ordinary boxes at the former SkyDome just have the usual Rogers’ overcharging zones.
It’s jokes like that that get a fella kicked off next year’s guest list. I keed! Go Jays!!

Future Rogers’ content providers somehow crashed the scene
