PachiTO2015Mascot-2Sunday marks the finale of The 2015 Pan American Games. Canadian athletes did our country proud, winning a record 214 medals by end of day Saturday, including 77 gold. Sunday’s haul should add to that tally.

But how did the Games do on TV? CBC is the rights holder and is looking for a big boost Sunday night with the closing ceremonies. Kanye West is performing, which seems to be either cool or completely wrong depending on whether or not you are over 30. Coverage begins at 7 p.m., live from the Rogers… uh, the re-named for the Games place with the retractable lid.

CBC pulled over 1.6 million for the opening ceremony (over 1.9 million counting CBC News Network numbers) and averaged in the 900,000 – million range in prime time throughout the Games. In terms of demos, however, not so robust. CBC’s older-skewing audience were apparently more into these games than the kids.
