Here’s how shows in Canada fared in the ratings the week of Oct. 25-31 according to overnight estimates (2+):
MONDAY
Reruns (whaat? Didn’t this season just start a few weeks ago?) impacted viewing levels for several shows this week. House, for example, dropped from its usual 2 million-plus levels to 845,000 viewers Monday.That left the night to Dancing with the Stars, which waltzed off with over 2 million on CTV. Hawaii FIVE-0 booked 1.55 mil on Global. Castle (1,266,000), Lie to Me (1,247,000) and Battle of the Blades results show (1,079,000) all top a million in prime. Men with Brooms (311,000) inches toward respectability. Just Four Laughs managed 214,000.
TUESDAY
The Rocky Horror Picture Show episode of Glee (above right, featuring Amber Riley, Naya Rivera and Heather Morris) sent the high school musical soaring toward the 2.5 million viewers mark. That was easily tops on the night, followed by NCIS: Los Angeles on Global (close to 1.9 million), Dancing with the Stars results (1,750,000) and The Good Wife (1,362,000). No Ordinary Family pulled 1,244,000 with Law & Order SVU slipping under as million in overnight estimates.
CBC slumped with a rerun on the Rick Mercer Report pulling 587,000 followed by 22 Minutes (under a half million) and The Tudors (622,000). Stroumboulopoulos My Dad Says hit 244,000 thanks to an appearance from Russell Peters. Citytv’s The Biggest Loser drew 678,000.
WEDNESDAY
Criminal Minds (2.6 million) beat Survivor Nicaragua (2.4 million) for top spot on the night. The Defenders (1,545,000) easily topped a repeat of NCIS (893,000). CBC’s Dragon’s Den pulled 1,277,000, which still could not boost Being Erica (363,000) above the Brampton barrier. Even Global’s Shattered (431,000) now draws better than Ms. Strange.
City enjoyed typically robust viewer levels from top comedy imports Modern Family (884,000) and Cougar Town (709,000). Sportsnet batted 702,000 with their World Series opener. TSN scored 520,000 for a Canadiens/Islanders tilt.
THURSDAY
CTV’s big night stayed that way with The Big Bang Theory soaring over 3.2 million. That goosed S#*! My Dad Says to nearly 2.2 million. Set phasers for stun! The Mentalist (2,624,000), Grey’s Anatomy (2,350,000) and CSI (1,818,000) all had typically big nights for CTV.
Global drew over a million for a repeat of Bones and then respectable numbers for steady comedies The Office (826,000) and Outsourced (778,000). The Apprentice did 640,000.
CBC’s non-scripted Thursday offerings Nature of Things over half a million viewers) and Doc Zone (600,000) deliver steady numbers on a tough night.
FRIDAY
CTV continues to own the night with CSI: NY (1,779,000) followed by Tom Selleck’s cop drama Blue Bloods (1,720,000). Medium drew an overnight, estimated 1,140,000.
Over at CBC, Ron James was up to 661,000, leading to a strong Mercer repeat (726,000). The fifth estate did 459,000.
Global also airs programs Friday nights.

SATURDAY
CBC’s 7 p.m. game brought nearly 1.8 million viewers over to Hockey Night in Canada, with game two dropping to 877,000. Global’s Saturday Night Live was watched by an estimated 518,000.
SUNDAY
Another strong night for CTV, with The Amazing Race (2,360,000), Desperate Housewives (2,116,000) and CSI Miami (2,095,000) all topping two million viewers. Undercover Boss hit over 1.5 million.
The CFL scored a touchdown on TSN, with nearly 1.1 million tuning in for a Saskatchewan/B.C. game.
A Heartland repeat was down to 537,000 followed by Battle of the Blades on CBC (1,375,000) and a big drop off at 9 for the new Extreme Makeover-like reality series All for One (449,000).
Global stuck with a Simpsons Treehouse of Horror Halloween marathon, with four back-to-back episodes around the 800,000 viewer mark. Bros & Sis did 760,000.
