David Letterman turns 67 in about a week. He’s been a late night host since 1982, on CBS since ’93.
On Thursday night’s Late Show, he’ll announce he’s had enough.
He spilled the beans to the audience prior to the taping of Thursday night’s show. The photo, above, is identified on the CBS media site as Letterman announcing he is retiring. Sounds like he’ll take a Carson-long victory lap and finish up in 2015.
Much as I’ll miss him, the timing is right. More as the story develops.
