On this week’s brioux.tv the podcast episode, Farmhouse Facelift contractor and design team Carolyn Wilbrink and Billy Pearson got a kick out of me calling them the “Stylin’ Siblings.”
That’s what they are, though, so I’m going to keep calling them that until the name sticks. You can catch the second episode of their second season Tuesday night on HGTV. You can hear them talking all about season two — including the challenges of shooting and renovation ten heritage homes through a pandemic — by clicking on the blue and white arrow above.
Carolyn and Billy grew up on their own family’s farm in Waterdown, Ont., learning firsthand how to restore and reclaim the charm of heritage homes. On season two, they cover even more ground when it comes to restoring farmhouses. The ten new episodes cover homes all across Southern Ontario, including stops in the Niagara region, Bobcaygeon, Huntsville, Campbelford and Waterloo.
Tuesday night’s second episode finds Carolyn and Billy in Coldwater, Ont. Sisters Kelly and Ashley wanted to surprise their mother Dorothy with a renovation while their mom was out of town. The ambitious plan includes enlarging the kitchen, adding a full bathroom, and adding a French country flair throughout.
Farmhouse Facelift emerged last season as HGTV Canada’s No. 2 freshman Canadian original series. Part of the reason for that is the appeal of these wonderful heritage homes. Another is the way they are transformed with modern kitchens and bathrooms, all with an eye to retaining the country charm that drew homeowners to them in the first place.
Beyond that, I just really enjoy catching up with Billy and Carolyn, who are fun and lively podcast guests. Not only do you hear all about the new season, but on this episode, you’ll also get to hear the two of them sing their all-time favourite TV theme song. Hey, you don’t get that on just any podcast!
