Hockey superstars aside, who is the most-talented Canadian? Viewers will find out Tuesday night, live, on Citytv as a champion is crowned on Canada’s Got Talent.
Eight finalists will compete before the full judges panel on Howie Mandel, Lilly Singh, Trish Stratus and Kardinal Offishall as well as the man himself, America’s Got Talent head judge Simon Cowell. At stake is the $150,000 grand prize, 100,000 AirMiles and a chance to perform in Las Vegas with other acts from America’s Got Talent.
Four more acts were added to the finals last Tuesday on the final semi-final showcase. The Renegades were the first of nine to compete. The Toronto dance troupe, all dressed in red, got the group Golden Buzzer last time. Howie was honest – he said he liked the choreography better during the audition round. Lilly is still obsessed with these dancers and disagreed with Howie – she thought this time was better. Guest judge Jason Priestley, who had not seen them perform live, just went, “Wow!”
Next up was Toronto aerial specialists Trillium Entertainment. As one of the trio boasted before their performance: “We’re dangling from parts of the body you wouldn’t normally hang from.”
