The Night Agent was the most-watched series on Netflix in Canada the week of March 20 to 26. The action-thriller in fact, was among the Top-10 most-watched on Netflix in 93 countries around the world.
Based on the novel of the same name by Matthew Quick, The Night Agent was created by Shawn Ryan — a showrunner favourite with TV critics since back in the days he was promoting The Shield. Gabriel Basso stars as an FBI agent in the 10-episode series. Netflix calculates that The Night Agent was their most-watched English offering around the world with 168.71 million hours viewed.
Beyond that, there was a lot of same-old on the Canadian Netflix TV list, including You, Outer Banks and Love is Blind.
In movies, most-watched in Canada on Netflix was the 2021 comic book epic “The Suicide Squad,” starring Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, John Cena, Viola Davis and others. It knocked newer Netflix movies such as “Luther: The Fallen Sun” all the way down to fifth place. Luther remained No. 1 in the States and was Netflix’s biggest English language movie draw worldwide for the week.
