An overnight, estimated 4,385,000 Sportsnet National specialty viewers watched Sunday night’s game between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Seattle Mariners. The Jays’ 6-2 victory staved off elimination and forced tonight’s seventh and deciding game, which will also be played at the Rogers Cenre in Toronto.
Sportsnet’s half-hour pre-game show drew an average minute audience of 1,418,000 with close to another million sticking around for the nearly hour-long post-game report. For the game itself, 1,288,000 Canadian viewers were estimated to be in the 18 to 49-year-old demo.
Nothing else came close Sunday night in the Canadian television broadcast and specialty ratings. TSN’s simulcast of the NFL’s Sunday Night Football tilt between Atlanta and victorious San Francisco drew 378,000 in overnights with an additional 235,000 watching the same game on the CTV main network. The Simpsons‘ annual “Treehouse of Horror” episode scared up 424,000 estimated viewers on Citytv. CBC’s Great Canadian Baking Show rose to 193,000 hungry viewers. An even 300,000 watched Global’s Murder in a Small Town.
The winner of Monday night’s Game 7 goes on to face the defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2025 World Series. Coverage begins at 8/7C on Sportsnet.
