Listen up, SEAL Team fans: a movie spinoff of the five-year old series, which migrated from CBS and Global to streaming service Paramount+ this past season, is in the works.
The announcement was made Tuesday by CBS CEO and Paramount+ news and sports CCO George Cheeks. The movie, produced as a stand alone for the streaming service, will come from the series creative team of David Boreanaz, Christopher Culack and Spencer Hadnut.
CBS Studios also announced that an internationally-produced version of its long-running NCIS franchise is a go. Slated for 2023, NCIS Sydney will feature Aussie actors and will be produced in that nation’s picturesque harbor city. Shane Brennan, creator of NCIS: Los Angeles and a native Australian, is attached.
A timetable or other details for the SEAL Team movie is still pending. Paramount+ recently announced that a sixth season of the series will also head into production in the coming months.
