Even with the bad guys in the lead, there’s no stopping The Amazing Race Canada.
The series once again topped the English Canada ratings in the latest Numeris Top 30 Totals. For the week of August 12 – 18, the Insight Productions/CTV series drew 2,120,000 2+ viewers across Canada, its biggest margin of victory yet over second place finisher America’s Got Talent on Citytv with 1,463,000 Live+7 viewers.
This was the week where TARC stopped in the Kitchener-Waterloo region of southern Ontario. Dave and Irina, a married couple from Quebec who have lied and cheated their way to the lead this season, won a trip to Frankfurt, Germany, to go with their two other travel prizes. The series resumes Tuesday night at 9 p.m. on CTV with five teams still in the hunt as the series comes off a non-elimination week.
Big Brother‘s Wednesday episode (1,315,000 Global viewers) took third spot in the English Canada ratings Aug. 12 – 18. Two other Big Brother outings ranked 7th and 14th. Five nights of the CTV Evening News averaged 1,276,000 viewers, good enough for fourth place. Global’s broadcast of the Fox reboot BH90210 ranked fifth (1,265,000).
Bravo got a boost from The Handmaid’s Tale (783,000), which ranked No. 18 overall, just ahead of Match Game on CTV (757,000).
No CBC shows made the list. CTV’s news satire series, The Beaverton, grabbed the 30th spot with 587.000 viewers.
