Another sign that the world is unfolding as it should: Puppers beer is back.

Yes, the dark golden lager enjoyed by Hicks and Hockey players alike on the Crave comedy Letterkenny is making a return to the stores. You can find it in select Sobeys, beer stores and the LCBO in Ontario in time for the July 1 Canada Day weekend.

The news was announced Tuesday by Mark Montefiore, President, New Metric Media.

“Our new partnership with Labatt is a significant step in the evolution of the Puppers beer brand,” said Montefiore. “Labatt’s expertise and strong distribution reach will help get Puppers to a wider marketplace for Letterkenny fans and beer drinkers alike to enjoy all summer long and through 2021.”

Made with pale and caramel malts and German Perle hops, Puppers is perfectly in balance between malt and hops and sweetness and bitterness. Slightly grainy and yeasty, this dark golden lager is perfectly balanced with a slightly drying, sulfur-toned finish.

At least that’s what I’m told. I just know it looks great on TV and is, well, hilarious.

Montefiore, by the way, has plenty of reasons to celebrate with beer or bubbly this summer. CTV confirmed at their upfront last week that a new spin-off of Letterkenny called Shoresy will be coming soon to Cravr. Based on Jared Keeso’s main character on Letterkenny, the spinoff will again be created by Keeso and Jacob Tierney.

Another New Metric comedy, Children Ruin Everything, is also coming to CTV next season. Kurt Smeaton (Schitt’s Creek; Kim’s Convenience) is behind thst project, which will be about a young couple whose lives are forever ruined by their decision to have children. Hey, pass the Puppers!
