Tuesday’s first game of the second round of Stanley Cup action saw a roll back in ratings from the frenzy of the Toronto Maple Leafs finally pushing past the first round.

Overnight ratings from the 7:11 p.m. start estimate that 1,435,000 viewers caught the Florida Panthers beat the Leafs on CBC. Another 1,891,000 were estimated to have seen the game on Sportsnet National.

That total is down about a million from the final game of the Leafs opening round series vs. the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Tuesdays late NHL playoff game featuring the upstart Seattle Kragen vs. the Dallas Stars drew far fewer viewers in Canada, as would be expected. The combined CBC/Sportsnet overnight totals were estimated at slightly less than 950,000.

Also of note Tuesday: The first of two semi-final rounds of Season Two of Canada’s Got Talent drew an overnight, estimated at 476,000 viewers. Look for that total to swell once all the Live+7 days data is added to the mix.
