The second game of the Stanley Cup Round One game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Ottawa Senators easily won Tuesday night, ratings wise, on broadcast networks in Canada.

An overnight, estimated total of 1,473,000 Canadians watched the game on Sportsnet National, with another 809,000 catching it on the main CBC network.

That easily beat the top draws the same night on the private broadcasters. Citytv’s big budget original, Canada’s Got Talent, pulled an estimated average minute audience of 373,000. Imported dramas on CTV included Will Trent (548,000) and The Rookie (400,000). Global countered with their three FBI dramas, with Most Wanted topping their overnight estimates at 491,000.

The previous night, Monday April 21, saw the Montreal Canadiens game against Washington as the top draw with 1,044,000 Sportsnet National viewers. Monday’s late gamer on Sportsnet, Edmonton Oilers vs. Los Angeles Kings, drawing an estimated 838,000 after 10 p.m. through well past midnight. Meanwhile, CBC’s broadcast of the Winnipeg Jets game vs. the St. Louis Blues pulled 809,000 estimated viewers in overnights.

The top imported drama that night opposite hockey was NCIS on Global at 659.000. A two-hour episode of The Voice drew 255,000 Monday night on CTV.

Keep in mind that the tallies for all scripted dramas will show gains once all the Live+7 and other longer term data is added to the eventual totals.

UPDATE: In Wednesday’s Stanley Cup overnights The 2nd game between Montreal and Washington was seen by an estimated 800,000 on Sportsnet National plus 656,000 on the main CBC network for a combined total of 1.456M. The Edmonton Oilers lost their second game to the Los Angeles Kings as wtnessed by 583,000 on Sportnet and a further 380,000 on CBC in the later tilt.
