Even Yankee fans now know Trey Yesavage’s name, if only to curse him!

So…how are the Toronto Blue Jays doing in the ratings this post season?

They are killing it. Not just smoking the Yankees in four; they are by far, not even close, the hottest show on Canadian television.

UPDATE: With overnight numbers for Wednesday’s ALDS series winning victory still to come, here is how the Jays have done in all four games in overnight estimates on Sportsnet National.

Wednesday, October 8: according to overnight estimates, the series clincher drew the most viewers in this series with 3,379,000 catching the game on Sportsnet National. An estimated 2,645 stuck around for he half-hour, profanity-laced, post-game celebration on Sportsnet Central. Start spreading the news, as Jays’ potty-mouthed manager John Schneider would say. The same night, Global scored with a 90-minute episode of Survivor (730,000 viewers) and Sportsnet One played to 467,000 hockey fans after 10:15 pm ET in another Battle of Alberta Edmonton/Calgary tilt.

Tuesday, October 7: the one loss in the series, at Yankee Stadium, drew an overnight, estimated audience of 3,208,000 on Sportsnet National. The 18-49 tally? On million, seventy-three thousand in that fickle demo. Those pre- and post-game Blue Jays Central shows, usually averaging 30 minutes? Tuesday’s post game show drew 1,312,000. The competition Tuesday? TSN had nothing over 70,000 all day long in overnights, CBC’s top show that night was Coronation Sreet at 318,000. CIty’s top draw was a two hour Dancing with the Stars at 267,000. CTV did have one big draw, the newish series High Potential at 743,000. Global’s topper in prime was Murder in a Small Town at 429,000.

Sunday, October 5: The Blue Jays’ 12-7 Game 2 victory at home was worth 3,222,000 in overnight estimates. Blue Jays Central did 895,000 and 1,301,000 before and aft. Raw rookie pitcher Trey Yesavage should pull extra viewers every game he pitches going forward. TSN delivered just over a million with their Sunday Night Football tilt between the Buffalo Bills and the resurging New Emgland Patriots, with CTV kicking in another 541,000 to that NFL primetime tally. Other options Sunday languished far, far behind. CBC’s Great Canadian Baking Show rose to 233,000 at 350 degrees. The Simpsons on City did 256,000 with recast Hudson & Rex doing the downward dog at 54,000 in overnights. Global kept ticking with 60 Minutes at 541,000.

Saturday, October 4: The Jays Game 1 laffer drove home 2,706,000, with the Central split at 839,000 and 723,000. TSN’s biggest draw by far was Sportscentre at 249,000, with the rest of their sked falling well below the 100,000 mark. Global’s big draw was the 51st season opener of Saturday Night Live, a terrible outing hosted by Super Bowl villain Bad Bunny. It opened weak at 590,000. CTV’s big draw was an umpteenth repeat of the “Barbie” movie, pulling 260,000. City saw Fake Hudson and Substitute Rex barking up 75,000. CBC re-ran two episodes of the documentary on the ’72 Summit series, with did 28,000 and 47,000. The Jay Baruchel hockey feature “Goon” scared up 32,000.

Look for Wednesday’s series clinching ALDS numbers here when they become available. The Blue Jays advance to the American League finals vs either the Detroit Tigers or the Seattle Mariners on Sunday on Sportsnet.
