I dunno, wasn’t all that excited by the Saturday Night Live opener, were you? Expected more after all the Sarah Palin/Tina Fey hype. Was good to see Fey and Amy Poehler together again, but that Olympic dude Michael Phelps should stick to the pool.
The advance publicity certainly paid off in the ratings, however, as SNL scored a 64% increase over last year’s season debut, making No. 34 the highest-rated SNL opener since 2001.
If you missed the opening sketch, here it is [UPDATE–or at least what is left of it at YouTube, a Fox News clip mashed with some anti-Obama shots]:

  1. Yeah – it was a bit flat really although I could watch Fey doing pretty much anything and be content. She’s fabulous.

  2. I did not see the entire show just this sketch and I thought it was so right on it was scary. I love, love, love Tina, Amy & SNL.
