Easter is a time to rejoice and be glad–for free movie channel previews, am I right?
The free window on the Hollywood Suite movie channels ends Sunday night at midnight, so better hurry if you’re going to sample the best deal in television. Rogers has the four movie channels–WarnerFilms, MGM Channel, Sony Movie Channel and AXN Movies–spread over 486-489 and Cogeco has them at 872-875. The films–from the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s, ’90s and ’00s–are all offered uncut, commercial-free and in hi-def.
The films are well-programmed, too, not just thrown into some random rotation. Tonight, for example, starting at 8 p.m. ET, Sony Movie Channel features three films starring Dustin Hoffman: The Graduate, Tootsie (9:45 p.m.) and an under-rated political gem pairing him with his buddy Bob De Niro, Wag the Dog (11:50).
Even after the free preview runs out, all four channels are always available for six bucks or less a month. That’s not just less than Neflix, it’s less than a bag of popcorn at Cineplex!
Sunday and Monday, free previews on Rogers are also ending for the following channels: Disney Junior, Disney XD, family channel, Slice, Teletoon Retro, Travel + Escape, H2 and WFC (yes, there’s something called the World Fishing Channel). Multi-cultural channels TLN Spanish and Media Set Italia are also adios.
