The glut of statue swapping began last Monday with The Broadcast News Awards, hosted by Brandon Gonez and The Documentary & Factual Awards, hosted by Sangita Patel. Awards are handed out over six nights for excellence in Canadian film and television. On the seventh day, the Academy rests.
There really are a lot of very deserving Canadians in the industry who get singled out at the CSAs. The final gala will be televised Sunday night on CBC. Catherine O’Hara, Tatiana Maslany, Arisa Cox, Sidney Crosby, Andrew Phung, Ginella Massa, Ron MacLean, Jonathan & Drew Scott, Priyanka and Jessi Cruickshank will be presenting. The CBC dramedy Sort Of leads all shows with 13 nominations.
