
Tuesday’s sixth and final game of the 2025 Stanley Cup playoffs drew an overnight, estimated, average minute audience of 3.8 million viewers. That total, based on all viewers ages two and up, was measured by Numeris across Sportsnet National, One and 360 platforms plus the CBC Total. Of that, 1,733,000 watched on Sportsnet National and 1,444,000 are estimated to have watched on CBC.
The Florida Panthers defeated The Edmonton Oilers four games to two to win their second consecutive Stanley Cup. Sportsnet National drew an estimated, additional, average-minute audience of 522,000 across Canada for the 56-minute post game show.
Numeris data taken throughout the tournament shows that the average audience for all NHL playoff games played April 19 through June 17 was around 1.8 million viewers, a six per cent jump over 2024. It helped in Canada that five out of 16 teams in the playoffs were Canadian, up from three the year before.
In the U.S., An average of 2.5 million viewers watched the final round series on TNT, with 2.8 million catching the Panthers’ Game 6 victory. This was a sharp drop from the 4.17 million who watched the Cup final last year on ABC, a legacy broadcast channel with a much higher reach. This was the lowest-rated Cup final series in the States since Tampa Bay versus Montreal in 2021.
