Global’s new crazy police drama Shattered, starring Callum Keith Rennie (right), didn’t shatter any ratings records Wednesday night. The first new show of the 2010-11 network season opened to a BBOE (Below Brampton Overnight Estimate) 428,000 viewers Canada wide. Global did much better at 8 with nearly two million tuning in to summer reality hit Big Brother. A rerun of NCIS drew 633,000 at 9 p.m.
The competition was not fierce. CTV failed to break a million in prime Wednesday with a two hour Masterchef at 8 followed by  rerun of CSI: New York. Dragon’s Den (904,000) and The Tudors (475,000) led into stronger than average news numbers Wednesday at CBC (hitting 759,000 at 10 p.m.)
Earlier in the week, CTV’s So You Think You Can Dance Canada drew just under an overnight, estimated 1.2 million (Tuesday) and one million (Monday). That was slightly behind estimates for Global’s Wipeout and CTV’s Betty White pick up Hot in Cleveland, both cracking the 1.2 million mark.
