Little Mosque: hockey proof

Hey, I’ve been wrong before. The trio of CBC Monday debuts held their own against the World Junior Hockey Championships semi-final. Little Mosque on the Prairie returned at 8 p.m. with a robust 593,000 viewers, followed by the second season premiere of 18 to Life at 436,000 and the new reality show Village on a Diet at 514,000. Average them all out, well above the Brampton barrier.
This despite the four million plus who watched Canada defeat the United States in the semi. Another 1.5 mil plus caught Russia edge Sweden earlier Monday on TSN.
TSN, by the way, had 60 million-plus audiences in 2010!
Other networks also found viewers Monday night. CTV  came second only to the hockey game with No Ordinary Family (1,105,000), Two and a Half Men (1,664,000), Mike & Molly (!, 216,000) and Castle (1,692,000 according to overnight estimates).
Global did 1,369,000 with Hawaii FIVE-0 at 10 p.m. The return of The Bachelor did close to 700,000 on City.
Backing up to New Year’s Eve, CBC scored once again with their annual Air Farce special. The comedy salute drew 1,042,000 in overnight estimates Dec. 31 at 8 and picked up another 451,000 revellers at midnight for a 1.5 million total. Ron James New Year’s special pulled 923,000 viewers as CBC swept the night.
