A quick update on yesterday’s news that Coroner is no longer part of the CBC schedule.
Publicist Tanya Koivusalo reached out to tell me that there are still, “ongoing conversations happening” as to the future of the series.
CBC General Manager, Entertainment, Sally Catto, released the following statement:
“Serinda Swan has made the decision to leave the series to focus on new creative endeavours including directing, and we are now discussing options with the producers in light of her departure. We respect Serinda’s decision to begin a new creative journey and thank her for her dedication and commitment to bringing Dr. Jenny Cooper to life.”
The series, which co-starred Roger Cross, is produced by Muse Entertainment. Swan, 37, has directed an episode of Coroner and also was a producer on the series. Viewers in the US and Canada can watch the fourth and perhaps final season now on The CW.
