Eric McCormack is the perfect podcast guest. The Emmy Award-winning Will & Grace star has so many wonderful showbiz stories and is generous when it comes to sharing them. Hear some of them now before he saves them all up for his own podcast — one of the projects he has on his plate for the new year.

Hear the Scarborough, Ont., native on the following:

The time he cracked up guest star Gene Wilder between takes on Will & Grace. Wilder, in one of his final appearances, was just one of many guest stars to appear on that series. McCormack also talks about playing opposite Debbie Reynolds and Michael Douglas as well as the actors who played Will’s parents, Sydney Pollack and Blythe Danner.

Will & Grace starred (l-r) Debra Messing, McCormack, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally

McCormack confirms that he and his wife named their son after a beloved Canadian children’s show character. No, not Polkaroo!

The actor was in Toronto earlier this year shooting a season-long arc on the horror anthology series Slasher (Shudder, Hollywood Suite). He’ll play a murderous, turn-of-the-century swine. Look for the fifth season to premier in the new year.

McCormack has plans for a Broadway show based on a hit Michael Douglas/Kathleen Turner movie “The War of the Roses.” McCormack says Jason Alexander is down to direct.

He returned to Toronto this summer to direct Yannick Bisson and the rest of the cast on an upcoming episode of Murdoch Mysteries.

McCormack ends this episode by singing his favourite all-time TV theme song (hint: the two main character were “Doing it our way…”).
