Last Monday’s seventh and deciding game between the Vancouver Canucks and the Edmonton Oilers — the last two Canadian teams in the Stanley Cup playoffs — drew an overnight, estimated, broadcast and specialty audience of 3,247,000 viewers. (Ages 2+ across Canada.)

An estimated 2,027,000 watched the 9:15pm ET start, won by the Oilers, on Sportsnet National. CBC’s portion of the NHL playoff action that same night was an estimated 1,222,000. More viewers will be added to that total on digital platforms as well as stragglers who watch later on PVR’s.

The game aired opposite a two-hour The Voice on CTV (333,000 in overnight estimates) and reruns on Global.

The Oilers have already moved on to the conference finals against the Dallas Stars. Game One of that series is happening now, Thursday night, at Sportsnet and CBC.
