Cloris Leachman has won nine Emmys, one Oscar and a shelf full of other acting trophies. There is still room for some Olympic medals, so Leachman, 84, got herself harnessed into the bungee jump at the Santa Monica pier Monday night, where Fox hosted TV critics with their annual all-star party. She said later the harness wasn’t much fun, but otherwise she enjoyed the ride. She went on to tackle the wall climb and was last seen diving off the pier and wrestling with sharks.
Leachman plays an occasionally senile granny in the fall Fox comedy Raising Hope, my favourite new show this season. Martha Plimpton, Garret Dillahunt and Lucas Neff also star in the very “Raising Arizona” meets My Name is Earl-like comedy from executive producer Greg Garcia.
