Hosting advice for Stephen Colbert via Vanity Fair

These Vanity Fair folks have their video act together. This gem finds Stephen Colbert’s rivals pitching tips for his debut as host of The Late Show, happening Tuesday night at 11:35 p.m. on CBS and Global. Kimmel, Conan, Maher, Noah, Wilmore, Meyers, Corden and Oliver all weigh in; Fallon is curiously missing.

Colbert’s opening night guests are George Clooney and presidential candidate Jeb Bush. Wednesday: Scarlett Johansson, Elon Musk, Kendrick Lamar. Thurs: V.P. Joe Biden and Toby Keith. The week ends with Amy Schumer, Stephen King and Troubled Waters.

Guests next week include Justice Stephen Breyer, Kevin Spacey, Carol Burnett, Willie Nelson, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon and Sen. Bernie Saunders. Doesn’t sound like he’ll be slow jammin’ the news or lip synching with those cats.

I’ll be reviewing Colbert’s debut tomorrow morning on several radio stations, including Toronto’s CHFI (8:30 a.m.), CBC in Edmonton and Calgary and Hamilton’s CHML.
